Why Dominica safaris are truly unique

Why Dominica safaris are truly unique

Spared?mass tourism due?to it?having only a?few white sand beaches, the island of Dominica also scarcely has any big resorts or flashy hotels. A volcanic island under a coating of verdant green forest, alive with exotic birds, Dominica is still wild and remote, with untamed forests complimented by crystal-clear waters, and a host of incredible activities. In fact, because of this natural persona, it is fondly referred to as 'The Nature Island of the Caribbean'.

‘Nature Island’ lures true adventurers as you?explore hidden waterfalls and dense tropical forests, snorkel at champagne reefs, and swim with the largest toothed whale in the world, the sperm whale.

What to Expect from a Dominica safari

As there are no international flights, Dominica is not that easily accessible, which on a positive note, does deter a lot of holiday-makers looking for a sun-soaked beach getaway. This leaves adventurous souls looking for something really different, and willing to travel for it. It is however, quite simple to get to if you know how, and that’s where we come in.

On safari here, experiences are astounding. Our prime focus is swimming with the sperm whales, and we provide this alongside a photographic and naturalist expert, who will not only take you to the right place at the right time, but ensure you come back with photos?of your experience that you?can treasure for a lifetime. If you want to extend your safari and explore more, why not head to the impressive Titou Gorge, a spooky and thrilling experience ending at a?dramatic waterfall.?Alternatively, you can dip your toes in the serene Emerald Pool after a quick rainforest walk, or take a slow boat trip down the shady Indian River, where you can look out for animals such as crabs, egrets, iguanas, and hummingbirds. The twin falls, known as Mother and Father, are one of the most popular sights here, and they can be found after a beautiful 20 minute rainforest trek.

From waterfalls and tropical gardens, to rainforests and vanilla orchids, there is a lot to explore on this small island.

Our safaris are currently based around swimming with sperm whales, but there is more to Dominica than the underwater world.
