'Rich coast' by definition, and certainly by nature, this rather diminutive country can nonetheless lay claim to a staggering 6 percent of the world’s biodiversity, making it one of the most rewarding destinations for natural world encounters. An extraordinary cocktail of smouldering volcanoes, cloud forests, national parks and two uniquely different coastlines, Costa Rica holidays certainly pack in a tremendous variety of highlights and sights, which can be easily taken in on one adventurous trip.
As well as being famous for its ziplines, Costa Rica also offers white-water rafting, canoeing and treks up the stunning Arenal Volcano.
Both the Caribbean and the Pacific sides of Costa Rica are completely picturesque and home to lots of marine life. There are also brilliant surfing opportunities.

Excellent service through the whole process of discovery, narrowing down to what we were interested in and contacting the coordinating company in Costa Rica. Top quality - set it and forget it travel arrangements. This was our 2nd trip with NWS - both have been great. We appreciate not having to wonder/worry about any of the details while travelling.
The trip was amazing. It was a magical adventure full of nature, wildlife and beautiful oceans. The locations in costa rica were spot on and each of the locations provided me with different experiences which were all rewarding and unforgettable.
Excellent: well-planned/advised and ran exactly according to plan. It was geared well towards our wants and needs. The highlight for most of our family was Casa Corvado on the Osa Peninsula.
The itinerary created for us was well paced and met all of our pre-departure expectations. The Vamoos app is a game-changer - so very helpful pre and during travel for us and our family at home. The interactive GPS map feature was incredibly useful during travels. The one “blip” which occurred during our vacation was handled professionally and speedily - we feel a company cannot be wholly judged until a response to a situation whilst traveling is addressed - this determines the true professionalism of an organisation during and after the incident. We also found the pre-service offered by Tristan to be most thorough, efficient and informative (always keeping us advised of any information feedback delays). Natural World Safaris met and exceeded our hopes.
We appreciated the phone call a week before our trip and the app was great too. We had a great welcome service – every pick-up was on time, friendly and efficient. The quality of guides was also first-rate and the hotels were lovely, especially the Hotel Belmar and Arenas del Mar. Overall, it was a great experience!
The accommodation was amazing. We even had the honeymoon suite in one place. What more could you ask for at 60 years old! Finca Rosa Blanca just outside San Jose was really amazing and we just wished we had stayed longer in each place. All transfer pick ups etc were brilliant. Guides/drivers etc were either on time or early. Attention to detail was fantastic and anytime I phoned for information Tom was always there to help.
Tom was very well informed and planned a great trip for us, listening to what we wanted to do as a family.
The trip was fantastic - everything I'd hoped for and more. Costa Rica is such a beautiful country with so much to experience and wonderful people.
The speed of response, ability to be flexible, make changes easily and accuracy of delivering a schedule that meets the requirements are all good pre trip things. All the guides were good, but the guides at El Remanso were exceptional. Two good experiences tailored around the wildlife mean we are likely to use NWS again.
I love the personal touches to the safari and the individuality.
Most visitors will want to visit Arenal volcano during their visit, which, although resting since 2010, still looms over the region with great surrounding trails. Also in the interior, Santa Elena and Monteverde have some magnificent cloud forests with canopy walks, and here you can also partake in some of the world’s most scenic zipline adventures.?
Ride the raging rapids of Siquirres, then head to Tortuguero National Park on the Caribbean coast where, at the right time of year, you can see the Atlantic Green Turtle. Over on the Pacific Coast, the rugged beauty of the Manuel Antonio National Park and the peaceful Nicoya Peninsula are the perfect places to unwind. Well-established for tourism with great infrastructure, there are many memorable jungle and beach hotels and boutique properties with a handful of rooms and some serious character which we can use to blend the perfect holiday to this tropical paradise. English is also widely spoken throughout the accommodation.
ZIPLINE THROUGH HIGH CANOPIES, RAFT DOWN WILD RAPIDS, SPOT FOUR PRIMATE SPECIES AND RELAX ON BEAUTIFUL BEACHES.
